Guy fleeing police stops just across the county line... gets arrested anyway

Brian Russell, 31, of New Gloucester, ME is in jail... accused of leading police on a short car chase.  Police said they tried to pull Brian over in New Gloucester, but he did not stop until entering the neighboring city of Auburn.  Why?  Brian apparently thought a Cumberland County sheriff's deputy could not arrest him if he crossed into Androscoggin County.... too many movies, Brian.  Enjoy your time in the clink.  Hopefully, it's not just like the movies.  [WMTW]

Man shoots boy on pogo stick with a BB gun on Sesame Street

Randall Brackett, 23 of Sesame Street (no kidding... except this Sesame Street is in a trailer park in Skowhegan, Maine) got mad at some kids hopping up and down on a pogo stick and making noise outside his trailer that he apparently shot one of them, a 12-year-old... in the stomach with a CO2-powered BB gun.  Smart, Randy.  Adding to the stellar reputation of trailer dwellers everywhere. [Morning Sentinel]

$10.95 "Skinny Dip" sandwich ends up costing $300-$500

The Skinny Dip sandwich at the Black Frog Restaurant in Bangor, Maine is free if you get nekkid and jump into Moosehead Lake.  Three friends took the Black Frog up on the offer and ended up getting arrested for indecent conduct.  The Black Frog's owner asked all of the 40 to 50 patrons on the barge at the time were asked in advance if they would be offended if someone jumped naked from the barge and no one objected.  Unfortunately, a family that had been standing on the boardwalk nearby was offended and contacted police.  Booo....  When police arrived and issued the summons, all of the restaurant patrons on the barge pitched in and donated money to the streakers to help pay for the fine.. and lunch.. and the show.  [Bangor News]
