Chad Toy, 21, serving  time in a Paducah, KY jail for theft, was on work detail when he noticed an open door and ran for it.  He wasn't gone long... his sister talked some sense into him and he returned later that afternoon.  "It was a spur of the moment decision. I saw an open door and just ran through it," Chad said.  "I am sorry about what I did. If I had it to do over again, I would have never run out the door."  [MSNBC]

Halloween prank results in false report citation for Chicken Ranch manager

Joe Watkins, a manager at the Chicken Ranch restaurant in Paris, KY, wanted to play a Halloween joke on one of his employees, so he laid on the ground in a pool of fake blood.  The employee found him, ran screaming from the restaurant and called the police.  Joe tried to call the woman's cell phone to tell her it was a prank, but she didn't answer.  He also called police to tell them it was a gag... they came anyway and charged Joe with making a false report.  Huh?  Why Joe?  Damn.  No sense of ha ha.   [Fox News]

Dumb crooks rob gas station then ask police for directions

Lavarr Milton, 21 and Guy Walker, 18 of Louisvile, KY are accused of robbing a local Circle K gas station (and three other gas stations).  About two hours after their last caper, they asked a Louisville Metro Police officer for directions.  The officer noticed evidence of a robbery in their car, thought they looked suspicious and arrested them.  I'm sure they'll remember to keep their loot in the trunk next time... [Courier Journal]

Kentucky man sues after doctors amputate his penis

Philip Seaton went in to have a circumcision, when he woke up and tried to take a leak, he realized his penis had been amputated.  The doctor says he found cancer, so he lopped it off.  Phil says he'd have liked to have the opportunity to get a second opinion and didn't consent to the surgery.  He says he's suffered mental anguish, pain, and has lost the enjoyment of life and only cash dollars will make him feel better.  [wlky.com]
