Churches call Chocolate Jesus tasteless

Churches throughout Germany criticized Frank Oynhausen's new business:  Selling chocolate Jesus candy.  Frank founded the "Sweet Lord" chocolate Jesus-making business saying he wanted to restore some traditional religious values to Christmas in Germany.  The German Protestant Church criticized the idea as "tasteless" and the Roman Catholic Church was... not amused.  Frank has filled thousands of orders so far.  "It is terrible that Jesus is being wrapped up in gold foil and sold along with chocolate bunnies, edible penguins and lollipops," said a church spokesman.  [MSNBC]

German lawyer pedals naked toddler around Munich

A 32-year old lawyer form Schwabing, Germany was stopped by police when the spotted her riding through Munich on a cold day with her naked baby in the child seat.  "The one-and-a-half-year-old appeared miserably cold, with her “nose running down to her lips” and her “mouth blue at the corners.”  Apparently, it was 52 degrees Fahrenheit at the time, with “an unpleasant wind chill.”   The lady said her daughter had refused to let anyone dress her and got all lawyerly by explaining that "children have individual rights as well, which is why she accepted her daughter’s wish to remain undressed."  Officers told her to stop being a a moron and put clothes on the kid.  The Munich Youth Welfare Office is investigating whether the woman is fit to raise children.  [The Local.de]

German man sells his partner to elderly neighbor as a sex slave for beer

A German man has been sentenced to three years in prison for selling his partner as a sex slave to his neighbor for a crate of beer.  Hmm... the guy forced "his partner" to have sex with an elderly neighbor for several weeks.  He guy got a case of beer for every visit.  Ummm... ok.  [Sydney Morning Herald]

Curiosity fails to kill again: Another cat living in a wall story

Last November, a cat living in London named Tabitha got trapped in a cabinet and lived for 44 days (just over 6 weeks) by licking condensation off a pipe (story here).  The veterinarian in that case said it was a "miracle the cat survived."  Well, not to be outdone, Bonny a cat living in Germany made it seven weeks after being walled up under a bath tub.  "It's a miracle," said Monika Hoppert, Bonny's owner.  Thanks Ezra [Reuters]
